Boards and Commissions

Learn How You Can Make A Difference Too. Get Involved!
Citizen participation at all levels of the governmental process is valued and encouraged. One way to get involved is through service on a volunteer board. The City of Grand Haven has several boards, committees, commissions and authorities on which over 150 citizens serve. Most of the City's boards require city residency, but there are some that do not. There may be other qualifications required for membership on some boards; but, for the most part, the volunteer boards have a cross-section of community members willing to give of their time and particular talents.

The City of Grand Haven has several different boards and commissions of which the members are chosen from the community. Many terms come due in June; however, openings can occur at any time due to other factors. Citizens interested in serving may pick up an application at the City Clerk's office (616-847-4886), print this linked application form, or click here to submit an application online.
