Housing Educator Assistant – Part Time Grant Funded Position

The City of Grand Haven is seeking a Housing Educator Assistant. Under the direction of the Neighborhood Development Coordinator this fully independent support professional performs administrative duties and provides advanced customer service support for Grand Haven’s Neighborhood Development Housing Services. General duties will include assisting with phone screening and providing general information and referral services to customers of the Neighborhood Housing Services. The individual will develop, establish, maintain and manage department electronic and paper filing systems, data entry and assist in completing quarterly reports.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with additional vocational or college training preferred. Additional skills required include a detail orientation with exceptional organizational skills, proven strong communication ability, knowledge of general office equipment and a desire to work with the public to improve their quality of life.

This is a part time position with a schedule of 24 hours per week. This is a grant funded position with funding secure at this time through September 30, 2016. Starting pay for this position is $13.23 per hour.

Harbor Transit – Part Time Driver

The City of Grand Haven is seeking several Part time Drivers for the Harbor Transit Multi Modal Transportation Authority. The successful candidates will accept radio dispatched requests for service and safely transport passengers within the designated service area. Additional responsibilities include collecting fares from passengers, conducting daily inspections of the vehicle, completing daily vehicle logs and other assigned or related tasks.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a State of Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements. Experience operating vehicles for public transportation is strongly desired. The successful candidates must possess excellent people skills and be able to deliver extraordinary customer service. The ability to complete the Harbor Transit Training Program is also a condition of hire.
