Harbor Transit Part Time Driver
The City of Grand Haven is seeking several Part time Drivers for the Harbor Transit Multi Modal Transportation Authority. The successful candidates will accept radio dispatched requests for service and safely transport passengers within the designated service area. Additional responsibilities include collecting fares from passengers, conducting daily inspections of the vehicle, completing daily vehicle logs and other assigned or related tasks.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A State of Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is preferred, but is not required. Experience operating vehicles for public transportation is strongly desired. The successful candidates must possess excellent people skills and be able to deliver extraordinary customer service. The ability to complete the Harbor Transit Training Program is also a condition of hire.

The Grand Haven-Spring Lake Sewer Authority is seeking a Superintendent to manage the regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. With policy direction from a regional board, the successful candidate will plan, develop, implement and manage systems, processes and procedures to ensure effective operations and regulatory compliance. Working in conjunction with subordinate supervisors, this position also manages staff and operations to achieve organizational goals.
The Grand Haven-Spring Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant is a Class A activated sludge facility with a designed capacity of 6.67 million gallons per day. We have recently upgraded the operations to include biological odor control with ultraviolet light disinfection. A staff of 2 supervisors and 6 operator mechanics maintain this 24/7 operation through regularly scheduled shifts and rotated on call responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have a State of Michigan Class A wastewater license, a minimum of eight years of experience in progressively responsible positions as well as experience in budgeting, communication and long range planning. A Bachelor’s Degree is required in the areas of Civil or Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology. Advanced education in Business Management is preferred.
