Facilities & Grounds

The facilities manager directs the facilities, grounds and custodial divisions in the areas of building maintenance and repairs, construction, grounds and tree maintenance, overall purchasing, and budgeting. The manager inspects and determines when trees need to be pruned or removed by the Parks staff, and decides whose job it is to then prune and/or remove the trees. When deemed necessary, a licensed arborist is retained to assist in the evaluations. A goal is for this service area to take over the City’s annual tree planting program and the program that allows property owners to purchase trees at a very affordable rate.
