Cadets

The purpose of the cadet program is to provide college students who are Criminal Justice majors with the opportunity to learn more about law enforcement. Cadets employed by GHDPS participate in a wide variety of tasks which helps to prepare them for a potential career in law enforcement and possibly with the City of Grand Haven.

Cadets assist with crossing guard duties, issue parking citations, and direct traffic.
They also take reports on walk-in complaints and often assist the Records Division
with duties includingdata entry and answering the telephones.
