Schedule of Events December 14- January 18, 2011, Accepting Entries for the Winterfest Photography Contest
Entries are accepted until 5:00 PM at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum Akeley Building, 200 Washington St., Grand Haven. Sponsored by the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. Entry forms can be picked up at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, the Chamber of Commerce, or online at winterfestonline.org.
January 8- January 22 Accepting Entries for the Winterfest Poster Contest

January 27- Thursday
Dollar Family Ski and Board

January 28 - Friday
Ice Sculpting at Jack’s & Old Boy’s Brewhouse Watch culinary staff convert ice into art. Sculpting under the lights from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Art Reception 6:30 - 8:00 PM. The Tri-Cities Historical Museum Akeley Building, 200 Washington Ave. Celebrate West Michigan talent and view works of the 2009 Winterfest Photography and Poster Contest participants. Award winners will be announced. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Family Dog Pull 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Sponsored by the City Farmer, at Mulligan’s Hollow. Registration at 9:00 AM. Races begin at 9:30 AM. Call (616) 842-0360 for information and list of rules.
Cardboard Sled Race 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - At Mulligan’s Hollow. Registration 10:00 AM. Sled judging at 10:30 AM. Races begin at 11:00 AM. All entrants must wear protective head gear. Race of Kings: Hamster/Gerbil Race
2:00 PM - At the Community Center: Bring your pet & gerbil ball! Registration begins at 2:00 PM. Must be signed up and ready to race at 3:00 PM. Sponsored by Rochester’s Reef Pet Store. Call (616) 846-9592 for more information.
Snowboard and Ski Competition 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Mulligan’s Hollow Ski Bowl. Slope Style and Giant Slalom. Open to all ages. Prizes. Free entry with lift ticket. Sponsored by Buffalo Bob’s. Luau Extravaganza 7:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Admission) The doors open at 7:00 PM, enjoy the tropical music from 8:00 PM - Midnight. You must be 21 years of age to attend.
January 30 - Sunday
Snow Angel Contest 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM in Central Park on Washington between 4th St. and 5th St. Registration 2:30 PM. Timed event begins at 3:00 PM. Create a snow angel in Central Park and win prizes. Supplies provided. Get the Forms.
Photography and Poster Display 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM - All photography and poster contest entries will be on display at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum’s Akeley Building, 200 Washington Ave. Photography will be displayed until mid-February for public viewing.

Luau Extravaganza
Winterfest Luau
That’s right! We’re having a luau in the middle of winter. We’ll have prizes for the best dressed. So, put on those Hawaiian shirts and bust out the Parrot Head paraphernalia. Conga lines, palm trees, tropical beverages, and the shenanigans of Sons of Beaches. No matter how cold it gets outside, it’ll be hot inside.

The ticket is good for admission (no cover charge) for both Friday and Saturday night. There are also great Winterfest Music Pass drink specials. Just show them your pass.
