This spring, we’re inviting you to rediscover the places you love—and uncover a few new favorites—during our Small Business Passport event, happening April 20–25, 2026. With 75 participating businesses across Downtown, Centertown, and the Waterfront, it’s the perfect opportunity to step inside shops you’ve always meant to visit, meet the people behind the counters, and experience the energy that makes our business community so unique.
Spring yard waste drop off kicks off this Saturday, October April 4, 2026 and will be available every Saturday only until May 9, 2026. The drop off site is located on Harbor Island in the boat launch overflow lot at the north end of the island. These services are only for residents of the City of Grand Haven who are Republic Services Customers. No staff will be present to assist in your drop-off. However, the site is under video surveillance. Any dumping other than qualifying yard waste is strictly prohibited.

The City of Grand Haven was recently awarded the Project of the Year Award from the Midwest Branch, Michigan Chapter of the American Public Works Association at their annual membership meeting for Quality-of-Life improvements associated with Bicentennial Park retaining wall replacement and the Five Mile Hill Overlook Reconstruction. The award demonstrates the City’s commitment to improve and sustain the community’s quality of life for our residents and visitors alike. The City Council approved the capital improvements in the 2024/25 fiscal year, digging into the City’s fund balance to accomplish the improvements.
